Reigns was one of the best Android games of 2016, combining the rigors of being a monarch with the simplicity of Tinder-style left/right swiping. That’s why it’s great to hear that a sequel is on the way in the form of Reigns: Her Majesty.
In Reigns, you simply swiped left or right to make critical decisions about your empire. Most of your decisions would anger a lot of people, primarily the people who die as a result of those decisions. Sometimes, the person that dies is you, the King.
The new game shifts focus from Kings to Queens, and it doesn’t look like running a kingdom while balancing the Church, the Army, the People and everything in between is any easier. Developer Nerial promises you will have to navigate “increasingly complex politics and personal relationships of your dynasty.”
My experience of the first game is somewhat hazy — mainly because I play so many games, but also because the game itself is very abstract. I’m pretty sure I remember a bird telling me that I had to kill all the witches, who were actually just normal people and not witches at all. But I think it made the church happy and I lived for like another 10 years?

Reigns: Her Majesty will release on Google Play, the iOS App Store, PC and Mac this year.
